PA Study on Housing Options for Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder

After discussion of 22 housing models explored in PA, this report identifies short and longterm recommendations designed to remove these barriers and increase housing options for individuals with autism. The recommendations focus on: educational opportunities for adults with autism and their families to learn about housing options and service regulations; creation of new housing opportunities by taking advantage of federal, state and local housing funding sources; amendments to current regulatory policies on licensed residential programs and waiver funding; and creating increased public awareness, and awareness by the affordable housing industry, of the need for housing choices for adults with autism.
