Housing First is an important model to address homelessness as people are given a stable home without being forced into programming first. States and municipalities who adopt this model may increase the affordable housing stock moreso than if the policy is not adopted. This will help all who are homeless, which may include people on the autism spectrum. Unfortunately, data is not collected on whether or not someone who is homeless is also autistic, so we don’t know for sure how it influences this population.
