Farm/Homestead tour – midwest to east

Hi, I live in south central PA and have a farm that we will turn into a vocational day program for adults with ASD, as well as a residence for 4-5 young men with moderate to severe ASD.  I know about some similar farms and homesteads but we would like to take a driving tour of some to see what they do, how they do it, etc. and learn from them.  Is there a list of similar farms in the country, preferably by region?  Our trip will likely take us from PA to Ohio and Iowa.  Any farms we don’t want to miss?  Thanks in advance!

If you go to the AHN Housing Directory, you can use the filter under ‘lifestyle’ to find other agricultural or farmstead communities and then view the results on the map.

Some of the key stops you may consider on your journey that fall within that lifestyle would be  Juniper Hill Farm (Pennsylvania, consumer-controlled housing and residents use waivers), Innisfree (Virginia, private pay), Safe Haven Farm (Ohio, consumer-controlled housing and residents use waivers),  and Benjamin’s Hope (Michigan, provider-controlled housing and residents use waivers).
