Mainstay provides supported housing in Greater Boston in 7 homes in: Malden, Norwood, Walpole and Newton. Our houses are very affordable as we combine state and federal resources, along with a modest private pay family/resident contribution, to offer housing located in desirable residential neighborhoods.
We provide long-term, stable, social living environments for residents, who typically have autism spectrum disorders, and a range of developmental and intellectual disabilities. Friendships and social connections flourish as resident become each other's extended families.
Each resident has their own private room, with shared bathrooms and ample common space, including fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities, on site.
We offer a homemade dinner, live in staff for overnight emergency support and additional afternoon/evening staff every day of the year. All of our homes are located in areas where the MBTA RIDE service operates, a door to door transport system in Massachusetts giving full access to the community. There are bus and train lines within walking distance of each house.
Our model is a Collaborative Living Support program that combines family and staff support. Our philosophy is to encourage and support the highest level of independence for residents – in home settings in which every resident lives their best possible life.
