We plan to build and operate a Residential Community called Creative Living Community on a 10-acre property in Coventry, CT consisting of private, market-rate, for-sale 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4-bedroom homes for approximately 50 adults ages 21 and older with and without autism and IDD. We acquired the property in Coventry in 2018. Most of the homes will be organized around a central greenspace in a “pocket neighborhood” configuration designed for people, not cars. Indoor and outdoor amenities will enhance our community for residents, families, staff, and guests.
We presently operate multiple Agricultural Microenterprises including a Greenhouse Vocational Program at the Tolland County Agricultural Center, a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, a Farm Stand retail store on the Coventry property, and Animal Assisted Intervention and Activities programs with Alpacas and chickens. We currently serve 40 adults with these business operations.
We presently provide an Arts in the Afternoon program and social outings in the community including bowling, going to movies, and dinner and games at Dave & Busters. We plan to grow our capacity by creating an activities space in the ground floor of the Farm House located on our Coventry property, and later we plan to build and operate a 2,500-square-foot Arts & Programs Center that will serve as a hub for CLCC’s vocational, arts, educational, respite, recreational, and spiritual programs and activities. The Center will be a resource for our residents, adults with DD from surrounding communities, and non-disabled residents from the community at-large.
